Dennis McNally

Dennis McNally holds a Ph.D. in American history from the University of Massachusetts. He was selected as the Grateful Dead’s official historian in 1980, and is the author of A Long Strange Trip: The Inside History of the Grateful Dead, Desolate Angel: Jack Kerouac, The Beats, and America, and the recently-published On Highway 61: Music, Race, and the Evolution of Cultural Freedom. He lives in San Francisco.
